“Organisations like Maksal have mostly men working there and they eat canteen food, which is mostly high in oil,” says Mduduzi Mokwape, founder and director of Queens Training Academy.
According to Mokwape, there were a number of questions from the attendees, who were mostly concerned about the effect of these illnesses on their sexual health.
“It is essential for us as Queens Training Academy to hold such presentations because the nature of industrial workers’ job does not give them a chance to go to the clinic regularly.
“Talks like these give them the opportunity to learn about these illnesses and how to prevent them,” he concludes.
The Queens Training Academy hopes return to Maksal in June to have another talk on the importance of staying healthy.
