“Eradicating poverty is the responsibility of everyone, and we should not sit and wait for the government.
“It is our duty to educate ourselves and impart information.
“Entrepreneurship is the responsibility of every society as well as the government,” says Makgata.
Visionary Youth Entrepreneurial Skill Development empowers many young people with the much needed skills, in the fields of agriculture, marketing, leadership and plumbing.
The organisation helps to promote local business owned by young people to reach their target markets and to become profitable.
Makgata says: “Understanding the importance of creating various platforms for young entrepreneurs whereby they can come together and share information, build a network and learn as much as possible, can really save lots of young businesses.”

Makgata explains that leadership and management skills are crucial in business, and that many young entrepreneurs lack these skills.
“Leadership can also be acquired through learning and training.”
He says that so many local business owners have great business ideas, but due to lack of proper mentorship and guidance their businesses end up failing.
