“It is so sad to see the number of women committing suicide rocketing.
“Resurrect Foundation saw an urgent need to empower and educate on the daily challenges of women,” says founder Refiloe Charmaine.
Women with depression are encouraged to join the forum.
The support group will consist of experts who know and understand the condition.
Refiloe says: “People commit suicide because of shame, rejection, debt, loss and other reasons.”
Refiloe acknowledges that most people who turn to suicide are churchgoers as they tend to feel overwhelmed for not being allowed the opportunity to be themselves.

There is the misconception that believers don’t have emotional troubles or go through depression.
The foundation aims to start a movement where people can be educated, empowered, not feel judged and stop the cycle of suicide among women.
The support group meets once a month and entrance is free. For more information contact Refiloe Charmaine on 062 358 1476 or send an email to resurrectfoundation@gmail.com
