“People have been requesting that I record a full album, I decided to finally give them what they want,” says Masemola.

KwaThema – Jabulani Masemola (34), popularly known as Uncle J, has released a new gospel album called Hlala Nam’.

“People have been requesting that I record a full album, I decided to finally give them what they want,” says Masemola.

He begun his singing career by being part of a choir and partaking in clap and tap musicals.

“I started taking music seriously after I realised it is my purpose and I love singing.

“I had always received positive feedback from the people who heard me sing,” says Masemola.

Uncle J has been singing for over 20 years.

“I have wanted to record my album, but wasn’t able to due to studio cost.

“The passion I have for music, however, has always made it possible for me to keep moving.”

According to him, Ngiyabonga and Omakhelwane are two of his favourite tracks from the album, as they offer comfort and encouraging words.
