Drunk drivers arrested in Duduza

Duduza – Fifteen drivers have been arrested at a roadblock over the weekend for driving under the influence of alcohol.

The arrests were as a result of a joint operation between the Duduza SAPS and the Ekurhuleni Metro Police Department.

Duduza police spokesperson Sgt Harry Manaka says the operation was aimed at fighting irresponsible driving by motorists in and around Duduza.

“It was a worrying factor that so many people still indulge in alcohol and choose to get behind the wheel.

“There has been many accidents reported, and most of them are as a result of driving under the influence of alcohol,” says Manaka.

Duduza SAPS station commander Lt Col Bheki Mhlungu expressed concern about the number of people who drive under the influence of alcohol.
