Wandile sentenced to 25 years
“It is ordered that the sentences in counts one and two should run concurrently with the sentences imposed on count three and four"
Tsakane – 22-year-old Wandile Letlage was sentenced to 25 years imprisonment, of which he will serve an effective 15 years, by the Delmas Circuit Court on May 23.
He was found guilty of seven cases of rape of minors.
As part of the sentencing, Wandile was declared unfit to work with children and his name has been entered into the national sexual offenders register.

Wandile’s spate of crimes was carried out when he was still a minor.
Springs police spokesperson, Captain Johannes Ramphora says the first case happened in December 2013 while the second case referred to a crime committed in December 2017 in Tsakane.
“His victims in the 2013 case were aged two and four years of age at the time of the rapes.
“In the second case the victims were aged two, 10 and 12,” says Ramphora.

He was found guilty and sentenced to 10 years imprisonment for count one and two which were taken together for the purposes of sentencing.
He received 15 years’ imprisonment for counts three to seven, taken together for sentencing.
“It is ordered that the sentences in counts one and two should run concurrently with the sentences imposed on count three to four,” he explains.
