In loving memory

Her memorial service will be held on June 20 at 1pm at the All Saints Anglican Church in Tsakane.

Deceased: Margaret ‘Mamakhe’ Madlopha (80), born June 15, 1939, died on June 15.

Career: She started teaching at Thabong Primary School after receiving her primary teacher’s certificate in 1965.

She was later accepted as a teacher at Lebone Primary School, where she built her career as a formidable teacher and choral music conductor.

She was appointed as the founding principal of the first Xitsonga-medium school in Tsakane, Khombindlela Primary School on April 23, 1986, where she worked until her retirement.

Community: Mamakhe was involved in various community projects to uplift the community of Tsakane, including a bakery and community food garden.

Mamakhe was instrumental in assisting many young students through their crises in life, most of whom turned out to be prominent members of society.

Family: Considered the matriarch of her family, she is survived by her sisters, brothers, in-laws, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Funeral: Her memorial service will be held on June 20 at 1pm at the All Saints Anglican Church in Tsakane.

Her burial service will be held at the All Saints Anglican Church in Tsakane on June 22 from 8am.

The cortège will leave for Tsakane Rockville Cemetery at 11.30am.
