Tsakane Cricket Club wins big

Tsakane – The Tsakane Cricket Club won big at the Easterns Awards held in Benoni on June 21.

Chairperson of the club, Cynthia Magaga, says she is proud of the club and the members who received awards.

“This was a great pat on the back as it shows that the club is growing and our players are the future.

“It is especially affirming because it comes at a time where some of our players have also been selected to play for the provincial team,” she says.

The club won in the following categories:

• Schools leg tournament – JE Malepe Secondary School.

• Best Player in the region – Thulani Khumalo.

• Best bowler in the u-19 School’s Week – Gabisile Nkosi.

• Coach of the Year – Senzo Shongwe.

Magaga says anyone wishing to join the club may collect a form from the Shadrack Mbambo Primary School.

“Anyone can join the club, even if they have never played cricket before,” she concludes.
