Polo driver damages Matshidiso Special School fence and flees

Tshetlo is urging residents to step in and assist the school in rebuilding the fence.

KwaThema – Matshidiso Special School is urging the driver of a black Polo, who drove into their security palisade fence on Monday night to come forward and own up to his or her actions.

It is alleged the driver drove into the fence at high speed and fled the scene.

School principal Thapelo Tshetlo says they need the driver to account for what he or she did and fix the fence.

“We don’t have funds to fix the fence, even with this one we had to seek funds and donations for years before someone decided to help us.

“This palisade fence was donated after the steel fence was stolen. This made it easy for criminals to gain access to the school premises.

“We were exposed to a spate of break-ins; they stole the electricity cables and other valuables from the school.

“We breathed a sigh of relief, but now we are back to living in fear again,” he says.

Tshetlo is urging residents to step in and assist the school in rebuilding the fence.

“We will appreciate any form of donation towards closing the damaged gap,” he says.
