They prepare the food from the ingredients they receive from local businesses and donations.
The soup kitchen was started to reduce the impact of poverty and improve the quality of life for the people of Tsakane.
“We started the soup kitchen because we have seen how people are suffering and no one deserves to go to bed without eating.
“We cannot always blame the government if we are not doing anything to assist our brothers and sisters,” says Matseme.
The soup kitchen caters for unemployed people, families with low income and homeless people.
People are invited to come and register at the soup kitchen to receive free meals.

“Our main objective is to reach the needy and underprivileged, hence we are asking for donations from our stakeholders,” explains Matseme.
The NGO also offers educational programmes on food, gardening and seeding.
“We do not only want to provide food to the people, but also want to educate them on things they can do to better their lives; therefore, we are providing these classes,” says Mzimba.
