Stolen vehicle and goods recovered in Tsakane

KwaThema – A stolen white VW Golf 1 was found at a house on Mhloli Street in Tsakane on Thursday morning.
This was after EMPD officers from the Nigel Precinct were alerted by officials of a vehicle tracking company that they were in pursuit of a stolen vehicle from Benoni.

Metro police spokesperson Supt Wilfred Kgasago says the metro police joined in the chase and the VW Golf was found abandoned on Mhloli Street in Tsakane.
“The gates of the house where the vehicle was abandoned were found open, but there was no one at home.
“The engine of the Golf was still hot and the gates open with nobody home, which made the officers suspicious.
“Upon searching the yard and the house they came across numerous suspected stolen items, vehicle parts and a red Mazda stolen in June in Evaton, as well as two other vehicles with tampered-with VIN numbers.
“A bank speed point gadget normally used by businesses, purses, jewellery, various vehicle lamps, speakers, windscreens and vehicle doors were among numerous items uncovered, which are suspected to be stolen property,” he explains.

Kgasago says all the suspected stolen property was booked in at Tsakane Police Station and the recovered vehicles taken to SAPS Van Ryn Deep pound in Benoni for further investigations.
“Investigations are underway regarding the stolen vehicles and the suspected stolen property found at the house,” he adds.
