Local undertaker shares love with learners at Fred Habedi

“Mandela always encouraged us to work together towards a better tomorrow, especially through actively taking part in the education of young people,” she says.

KwaThema – Local undertaker commemorated the legacy of late former president Nelson Mandela with the learners at Fred Habedi Primary School.

Gugulethu Ngweya says they decided to spend the day with the children at the school because the school caters for learners from disadvantaged backgrounds.

“Many of the learners are from the new informal settlements; we wanted to encourage them to study hard towards a brighter future.

“Nelson Mandela loved children and always encouraged everyone to help make them comfortable, especially in schools.

“It only fits that we take over the baton, ensuring their safety, and that they have access to the best education like others.

“Our visit is also to identify some of their needs they have so that we will know which areas we can help improve,” she says.

Ward 78 Clr Zanele Nyakale says they are happy that local business people are helping the government win the fight against poverty.

“Mandela always encouraged us to work together towards a better tomorrow, especially through actively taking part in the education of young people,” she says.

Teacher Mapula Nyembe says they are grateful for the visit and being selected as one of the schools benefiting from the initiative.
