SANBS sets up in the Avenues Shopping Centre

"Here we are closer to the people and more visible, and that way we are reaching more people."

The South African National Blood Service (SANBS) has been setting up its donation equipment regularly this August at the Avenues Shopping Centre.

On Thursday they were once again seen setting up their red gazebos, with blood donors doing their part.

Registered nurse Lizelle Enslin says they come to the shopping centre as often as possible.

“We mostly set up in the mall, but most people aren’t prepared to travel that far, so we come here at least once a month.

“Here we are closer to the people and more visible, and that way we reach more people.”

Stephen Henning and Israel Tladi were in high spirits and put on brave faces as they donated blood.
