New metro graduates to protect the Metro

“Your main functions include serving, protecting and defending institutions of democracy and the communities of Ekurhuleni.”

Kwatsaduza – 263 new Metro police recruits graduated at the Germiston Stadium on Friday to safeguard Ekurhuleni.

The group started their basic 18 months training for enrolment into the Ekurhuleni Metro Police Department (EMPD) in January 2018. They completed their programme in June 2019.

At a ceremony attended by family and loved ones, executive mayor Clr Mzwandile Masina urged the new police to maintain the same discipline inculcated in them at their training programme, and to be part of the City. He urged them to further their studies.

“Remember, in this field you have to be disciplined, and if you don’t have discipline, you do not belong in the EMPD.
