Seek help before it is too late

“The truth is cancer can only be cured or contained by receiving proper cancer treatment that is available at health facilities and is approved by oncologists."

Tsakane – Ronnie Nkabinde of CanSurvive Cancer Support is urging people who have been diagnosed with cancer to join his weekly support groups held across the east of Ekurhuleni.

The organisation renders support and shares information to cancer survivors who are in remission, cancer survivors receiving treatment, people who have been diagnosed with cancer and are starting their journey of having to learn how to live with cancer, caregivers and those who simply want information about cancer.

Nkabinde says they have identified that there are people in our communities suffering from cancer, besides those who attend support group meetings.

“Many people are sick and dying in their homes because they do not want neighbours and family to know they have cancer.

“It is unfortunately too late for them to be saved after the few times they speak out.

“Others are misled by fake sangomas and prophets who promise them overnight healing and tell them to stop taking the treatment.

Nkabinde is urging residents to use the available facilities to arm themselves with information towards a healthier life.
