Ward 86 councillor away owing to illness

“We do this with full understanding that a ward councillor must be known and accessible within their communities.”

Tsakane – ANC chief whip in Ekurhuleni Clr Jongizizwe Dlabathi announced last Friday that Ward 86 Clr Nonkululeko Salmane will be replaced in the interim by exco member Clr Alletta Mashego until Salmane’s health improves.

Dlabathi says: “We do this with full understanding that a ward councillor must be known and accessible within their communities.

“A councillor must not be above the people they serve, but must be seen to be with the people.”

“We further want to assure the residents of Ward 86 that our work to serve the community will continue as normal. We will continue to render basic services to all the residents as expected,” he adds.
