Local hairdressing academy to empower young people
“It is important to learn and understand the different hair textures and what you can do for better results."
Tsakane – Local hair stylist Lazarus Sumbane has taken the challenge from government to help young people fight unemployment.
He is the founder of Ekurhuleni Pro Love Hair Academy which aims to train young people interested in venturing into the hairdressing industry.
Lazarus says since he started working with hair, he identified an opportunity for unemployed people to be empowered.

“In 2015, I decided to put my plan in action and started with the company registrations.
“I received an accreditation certificate in February this year, all that was left was to find a location for the academy.
“We decided to launch the academy over the weekend and we are happy with the response we received from the community.
“We still have space for those who are interested in enrolling,” he explains.

Lazarus says he is hoping those who have enrolled are also inviting those who are already operating informally.
“It is important to learn and understand the different hair textures and what you can do for better results.
“We have professionals who are offering the training daily,” he adds.
