KwaThema – Members of SAPS anti-corruption unit in Gauteng arrested a 38-year-old constable on charges of corruption, extortion and defeating the ends of justice on Thursday.

The arrest comes after police were alerted to an arrangement in which four suspects found in possession of a hijacked vehicle, were to pay the constable an amount of R10 000 in exchange for the officer ensuring the case docket was misplaced, and did not go to court for prosecution.
The officer was allegedly arrested after receiving the money.
