KwaThema – The body of a well-known taxi owner, in his 50s, was found next to his taxi on September Street on Friday morning.
KwaThema police spokesperson Const Media Khoza says it is alleged that at about 6.30am, the owner was making his rounds picking up children for school when he was shot at.

“The suspects then fled in a red motor vehicle.
“The victim was declared dead on the scene by paramedics.
“He was later identified as a well-known taxi owner affiliated to Springs Taxi Association,” she explains.

Khoza adds that the motive for the murder is unknown at this stage. Police are still investigating.
“We are urging anyone with information that may assist the police with the investigation to contact the nearest police station, or contact Crime Stop on 08600 10 111 or make use of the MySAPS app,” she adds.
