Suspect caught with drugs by EMPD DEU in Tsakane

The man was stopped and searched by paroling officers.

Tsakane- On Thursday, at around 1pm, a 34-year old suspect was arrested.

This is after police officers found five pieces of rock and 10 knotted plastics of nyaope, valued at R500, on him.

According to Kobeli Mokheseng, EMPD spokesperson, this was part of the Covid-19 21-day lockdown operation.

EMPD Drug Enforcement Unit members were on foot, patrolling the streets of Tsakane with other law enforcers.

They stopped and body searched the suspicious-looking man and narcotics were seized.

He was taken to Tsakane Police Station and charged with possession of illicit substance.

The suspect is expected to appear in the Tsakane Magistrate’s Court soon.
