Passenger turns out to be a criminal

Man hijacked by stranger he was giving a lift

Tsakani- A 31-year-old victim alleged that he and his colleagues were driving along 12th Road Ext 2, Langaville, with an unknown man in the car on Friday evening.

It is unclear where they picked him up.

The victim then realised that one the car’s tyres needed to be changed.

He, along with his colleagues and the man, got out of the car to change the tyre.

The stranger then asked them to go and buy liquor.

Suddenly, he pointed a firearm at them and drove off with the vehicle.

The white VW Polo, with registration FX25WWGP and worth R65 000, is not installed with a tracking device and is not insured.

The vehicle has not yet been recovered and no arrest has been yet.
