Tsakani – Police are investigating a case of hijacking after the driver of a white Isuzu KB250 was robbed of his vehicle on Tuesday.
Tsakani police spokesperson Sgt Lerato Mngomezulu explained the owner received a call from a person requesting his services to transport goods from Tsakani to Kwa-Thema.
“When he arrived at the meeting place, he was confronted by three men who forced him out of the driver’s seat.

“The victim was then driven to an open veld in Extension Six, Tsakani, and let go,” she said.
According to Tsakani SAPS station commander Col Johannes Maass, this type of hijacking is on the increase.
Maass urged bakkie owners to be especially careful and warned all motorists to be vigilant.
He also pleaded with motorists not to sit inside cars on the streets at night, as this provides the perfect opportunity for hijackers.
