
Kwa-Thema – Police are investigating a case of attempted murder after a 31-year-old was shot on Saturday evening.
It is alleged the victim and his brother were returning home from a pub in Phumulo.
Kwa-Thema police spokesperson Sgt Media Khoza said the victim had an argument at the tavern with the occupants of a purple Toyota Corolla Sprinter with an unknown registration number.

“The brothers then drove home and stopped outside the house.
“The victim stayed in the car while his brother went into the house.
“He then heard the victim shouting please don’t shoot me and heard three shots being fired.
“When he rushed outside he found the four occupants of the purple Toyota Corolla, one of whom was armed with a firearm, standing by his brother.

“They jumped into their car and sped off.
“The victim was shot in the upper body and buttocks and was rushed to hospital by his family,” said Khoza.
Police are appealing to anyone who might have information that can assist in the arrest of the perpetrators to contact 08600 10111 or make use of the MySAPS app.
