Nurse Nhlanhla Mofokeng highlights the importance of good hygiene habits among teenagers to promote health, confidence and overall well-being.
Duduza – Nurse Nhlanhla Mofokeng is teaching on the importance of personal hygiene among teenagers.
She urges parents to encourage young people to adopt healthy habits and maintain cleanliness.
“As they navigate adolescence, good personal hygiene plays an important role in maintaining physical health. It prevents unpleasant body odour and promotes self-confidence,” she said.
“As teenagers experience physical and hormonal changes during puberty, maintaining proper hygiene becomes increasingly important.”
Mofokeng explained that it is important to teach children about good personal health at a young age.
She encouraged parents to advocate for teenagers to take responsibility for their personal cleanliness by bathing regularly.

Mofokeng stressed the importance of wearing clean clothes and paying attention to areas of the body that tend to sweat.
“Brushing teeth twice a day, washing hands regularly and keeping fingernails clean are also essential habits that contribute to overall health.
“Teenagers should also understand the importance of wearing clean underwear daily and maintaining proper menstrual hygiene for girls,” she added.
Mofokeng encourages parents and guardians to guide teenagers through the changes associated with puberty.
“By developing good hygiene habits early, teenagers can build a foundation for a healthier lifestyle as they transition into adulthood,” she said.
