A 32-year-old man was arrested on Saturday by Kwa-Thema SAPS following allegations that he raped a young girl.
The mother of the victim (15) told police she was in the Springs CBD when she received a call from her boyfriend.
She was told she should return home immediately as there is an emergency.
According to Const Nkululeko Magudulela, communications officer at Kwa-Thema SAPS, on the mother’s arrival at home, her boyfriend informed her that he suspects her daughter has been sexually abused.

The mother then spoke to her daughter, who alleged she had been raped by a man known to her.
The victim was taken to the district surgeon for a medical examination.
A case of rape has been opened at the Kwa-Thema SAPS and is being investigated by the Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences (FCS) Unit.
