Man shot dead in the street

“Unfortunately, the witness did not get the registration number of the vehicle as everything happened so fast.”

Tsakani – Police are investigating a case of murder after a 24-year-old man was shot and killed on Wednesday evening.

It is believed the victim was returning from the gym in Rheumanella Drive, Geluksdal.

Ekurhuleni East police spokesperson Sgt Vuyelwa Dwaba said a witness told police a white Toyota Corolla with two male occupants slowly drove up to the victim.

“The driver then switched off the lights of the vehicle and the passenger got out of the vehicle and shot six times towards the deceased.

“Unfortunately, the witness did not get the registration number of the vehicle as everything happened so fast,” she said.

The deceased ran into one of the nearby properties, where he collapsed.

He was shot in the upper body and was certified dead on the scene.

Dwaba added the perpetrators and the motive of the killing is unknown.
