Duduza man killed by alleged mob in Kwa-Thema

“He was later identified by his family who had come to open a case of a missing person at Kwa-Thema SAPS.

Kwa-Thema – Police are investigating a case of murder after 32-year-old Mfanafuthi Welcome Mahlangu was killed by an alleged mob on Saturday.
The deceased’s body was found along Sam Ngema Drive in Extension Two near Philang School.
He had visible lashes on his body and head.
Kwa-Thema police spokesperson Const Nkululeko Magudulela said the body was reported by an EMPD official who was first on the scene with the pretense of attending to a car accident.

“He was dressed in only his red underwear and covered in a brown blanket with his clothes next to him.
“He was later identified by his family who had come to open a case of a missing person at Kwa-Thema SAPS.
“They were informed of a deceased person matching the description of the missing person they had come to report,” he explained.
The family explained the deceased was last seen by his brother on Friday when they were returning from Brakpan.

Along the way, the deceased allegedly had an argument with his brother and friends and was dropped off along 12th Road.
It is unknown how or why he ended up at Sam Ngema Drive or why he was assaulted.
Magudulela added that information gathered by investigators led to the arrest of a 40-year-old woman from Ext Two in connection with the assault.
“The investigation continues and more arrests are expected to be made,” he added.
