New forum to restore order
The organisation was formed as a result of the looting and unrest.
Tsakani – Members of the community are urged to respect Covid-19 regulations, protect service delivery points and report any illegal activities to law enforcement.
This was communicated by councillor Hlengani Morris Chauke, the convener David Bopape Zone Councillors, on behalf of the Greater Tsakani Stakeholders Forum.
The organisation was formed as a result of the looting and unrest in Ward 83 (Corner Shop Extension 19, Usave Gubhela), Ward 85 (plus butchery and bottle store) and Ward 112 (Tsakani Square).

“We would like to urge all complex owners to engage with ward councillors going forward. It is imperative to stand united as businesses are slowly but surely reopening.
“We are also calling for the ward economy forums to strive to empower the township economy,” he said.
He said going forward the forum will meet every second week for updates and reports, as they will also be working with local authorities.
The forum consists of metro police, SAPS, ward councillors, religious leaders, local business owners, local taxi associations, NPOs, civic organisations, complex managers and community policing forum members.
