Tsakani – A case of murder is under investigation after a 61-year-old man handed himself over to the police on Sunday for killing his wife.
Tsakani police spokesperson Sgt Lerato Mngomezulu said when police arrived at the given address in Extension Five, Langaville, they found the 47-year-old deceased lying on the floor.
“Preliminary investigations revealed she was stabbed eight times and her body was cleaned. The suspect was charged with murder and will appear in court soon,” she said.
Tsakani SAPS station commander Col Goodwill Mbatha said they condemn any actions of gender-based violence.
“We are appealing to residents to refrain from resorting to violence to resolve their differences and to find peaceful solutions to their problems,” he said.
