Six arrested in Barcelona

This after police received an anonymous tip-off about a house along Mkhwanazi Street in Barcelona where gunshots were fired.

Kwa-Thema – Six people were arrested in Kwa-Thema for possession of unlicensed firearms and possession of dagga on Thursday.
This after police received an anonymous tip-off about a house along Mkhwanazi Street in Barcelona where gunshots were fired.
Kwa-Thema police spokesperson Const Nkululeko Magudulela said on arrival at the said address, police found five suspects who alleged they were there to buy dagga and drugs.

“Police searched the house and a 40-year-old man was found in possession of a 9mm firearm with the serial number filed off, one magazine and seven live rounds.
“Another firearm with a filed-off serial number, one magazine and six rounds of live ammunition was found on the ground near where the group of men were gathered,” he explained.
All the suspects were arrested and will appear in the Springs Magistrate’s Court soon.
