E-learning now a reality at Buhlebemfundo Secondary School
Twenty-six new computers were donated to the school with a surprise of a screen projector as well.
Tsakani – Learners at Buhlebemfundo Secondary School were gifted with a fully functional computer lab on Saturday, by NPO GirlLeadSA.
The NPO advocates for the empowerment of young girls through their leadership initiatives within urban and rural areas.

Co-founder of the organisation, Nolukhanyo Mqhayi, said: “We aim to bring about change in communities and we figured what better way to do that than through partnering with a local school.
“We believe education is a powerful tool, which can be used to address social ills while championing for women empowerment.
“The initiative was also in response to Covid-19 and its effects on education,” she explained.
On the day, 90 matric learners were able to apply for tertiary placement using the newly launched computer lab.
Speaking on behalf of the school was principal Clement Sathekge who explained the lab came at the right time.

“We are excited to witness this development in our school. Our learners are going to be empowered through the use of the computer centre.
“Many lacked access and will now have an opportunity to acquire basic computer skills. Our matric learners have started to use it for research purposes,” he said.
The lab will be used by learners in Grades Eight to 12.
