Police concerned about safety of learners

Tsakani – Local police urged learners not to allow anyone to inject them with a ‘vaccine’ if they are approached by people on the streets offering to do so.
They were speaking to learners at Funukukhanya and Thuthukanisizwe primary schools in Tsakani on Tuesday.
The visit comes after learners were recently approached by people on their way to school who offered to vaccinate them.
Tsakani police spokesperson Sgt Lerato Mngomezulu said it is alleged the female perpetrators injected the children with an unknown substance, which resulted in them being hospitalised.

“Children should not allow anyone they come across in the streets to inject them with anything.
“When the time is right for them to be vaccinated against Covid-19, it will be announced by the minister of health and proper procedures, such as informing parents and obtaining permission, will be conducted,” she said.
Mngomezulu added the awareness initiative will be conducted at other schools in the area.
No discription of the two ladies and their motive is not known.
“We appeal to the community to be aware of such incidents and protect any child on street if some strange conduct are noticed.”
