Thabang Xaba Foundation visits Phulong Secondary

Shibanbo said they will be returning to the school on September 16 for a career expo for Grade Nine learners.

Kwa-Thema- The Thabang Xaba Foundation visited Phulong Secondary School on Tuesday morning with their finalists from the Mr and Miss Kwa-Thema pageant.
The purpose of the visit was to motivate and encourage Grade Nine learners as they choose which subjects to select for Grade 10.

The learners were attentive as they received motivation and encouragement to take education seriously and put it before everything else.

The nine Mr and Miss Kwa-Thema finalists took turns to introduce and speak to the learners about the importance of education.

The learners were an attentive audience.
Speaking for the foundation, Mxolisi Shibanbo said: “The school chose the Grade Nine class for us because this grade is where you have to think very carefully about the subjects you are going to choose for Grade 10 because that is where your career begins.”

The visit saw finalists from the Mr and Miss Kwa-Thema pageant addressing the Grade Nine learners at Phulong Secondary School.

“We are also eyeing Tlakula Secondary School for a career expo, but because of Covid-19 we’ve been struggling to get a slot to visit the school,” added Shibanbo.
