Prostate cancer screening at Kwa-Thema clinic

Services include screening for prostate cancer, high blood pressure, high blood glucose levels and other related health issues.

Kwa-Thema – The Community Health Care Centre will be conducting another wellness initiative for men.
The event, which will take place on Saturday from 08:00 until 12:00, will be held in collaboration with cancer support group CanSurvive.
Services include screening for prostate cancer, high blood pressure, high blood glucose levels and other related health issues.

Understanding the facts around prostate cancer

Director of the CanSurvive support group Ronnie Nkabinde stated: “The problem is that people seek medical attention when it is already too late.
“Unlike other illnesses, prostate cancer might show no symptoms during the early stages in some individuals.
“As a measure to curb or slow down the scourge of prostate cancer, CanSurvive strongly requests males to test for prostate cancer at least once a year.
“Tests can be done at ones nearest health facilities.
“Early detection results in early treatment and full recovery,” he said.
