In loving memory

Deceased: Lydia Mokgekoloana Madigage-Mabelane (67), born October 26, 1954, in Payneville, Springs, died on September 8.
Education: She grew up in Kwa-Thema, where she began her primary school education at Matshidiso Primary School (Gorogang Primary) before going to Phulong Secondary School.
Mabelane pursued her interest in the teaching sector by enrolling at Mamkgalake Training College (formerly known as Rehlahliwe Training Institute) before continuing her studies at Vista, where she studied various education diplomas. With her love for education, she obtained honours and master’s degrees in education at Unisa.
Career: She has received various recognition awards, including being the top teacher in the district as well as master teacher, head of the department at Nkabinde Primary School.
Madigage ran the remedial programmes for her school, as she believed each learner had potential, and her duty was to unleash that potential. Her passion for arts and culture saw her running the sports and culture profile in her schools for consecutive years.
Community: She was an active community member who advocated against social ills such as gender-based violence, while she opened her home for those in need and providing supportive structure. She was an entrepreneur who championed for a healthy lifestyle.
Family: She leaves behind her mother, sister and extended family.
Funeral: The service will be held on Saturday in Limpopo.
