Body of woman identified
The deceased was reported missing three days after she went out with friends.
Kwa-Thema – The body of a woman whose body was found in an open veld along Vlakfontein Road last month has been identified as Ntombikayise Masina from Tsakani.
Her remains were found by a cattle herder who informed the police.

Her cousin Chunku Martin said the deceased left with her four friends on Saturday afternoon and later returned to change into warm clothes and left again.
“Days went by and we got worried that we couldn’t get hold of her and when we asked the friends she was with they told us she left with her boyfriend.

“The boyfriend told us that he left her at a tavern in Ext 18 in Tsakani and when he went back on Sunday she was still there and refused to go home,” said Martin.
Tsakani police spokesperson Sgt Lerato Mngomezulu confirmed the remains were identified as that of Masina.
“Police investigations continue and no one has been arrested thus far. We are calling on anyone with information about what might have transpired to come forward, ” she added.
On Wednesday evening, family and friends held a candlelight memorial ceremony outside her home to celebrate her life.
