Plans to make quick cash falls apart

Kwa-Thema – Police are investigating a case of murder after Sibusiso Khoza-Mshabi was killed in a mob attack two weeks ago.
It is alleged the deceased and his aunt devised a plan to steal stokvel money.
The plan failed when the aunt’s friend screamed for help and residents chased Sibusiso and assaulted him until he lost consciousness.

Sibusiso’s mother, Jesta Nkosi (79), said when the mob realised Sibusiso had lost consciousness they splashed him with water to help him regain consciousness.
“When he finally opened his eyes, he saw his aunt and confessed their plans to the mob.
“He was rushed to Pholosong Hospital, where he died four days later,” she said.
Nkosi added that even though her son was a drug addict, he didn’t deserve to be killed like an animal.
“I want the accomplice and the mob to be arrested and pay for what they did to my son,” she said.

Kwa-Thema police spokesperson Const Nkululeko Magudulelo confirmed they are investigating a case of murder.
“We condemn the actions of the residents who took the law into their own hands, which led to the death of the victim.
“Anyone who is found to have had a hand in the assault and act of mob justice will be arrested and charged with murder,” he added.
