According to a statement released by Ekurhuleni ANC Chief whip, Clr Jongizizwe Dlabathi, Mondlane also served as a member of Section 79 Oversight Committees in Community Safety and Economic Development Oversight Committees.
“We take this moment to pass our message of sincere and heartfelt condolences to the family, colleagues, friends and the residents of Ekurhuleni for such a loss,” he said.
Dlabathi added that Mondlane’s untimely departure has robbed the community of Ward 111 of a dedicated public representative who played a critical role in laying a solid foundation for a people-centred and service delivery-driven municipality.
“The cause of the accident is still unknown,” he added.
