My name is Henry Buitendacht, better known as Desmond or Buities.
I have been the councillor for Ward 82 since 2016 and what we have managed to do is the following:
• Assisted over 50 people to get houses in Extension 22
• Assisted over 100 people to complete subsidy application forms
• Organised Christmas parties for over 500 elderly people (annual event)
• Bursaries for learners from CoE X5
• CETA-accredited training for over 200 youth
• Assisted people with indigent registration
• Assisted people to get their housing title deeds
• Assisted people to get permanent employment
• Streetlights

• Weekly meetings with unemployed/ youth every Monday, now Wednesday
• Carpentry project for ex-offenders
• Daily provision of nutrition for over 350 people (partnership with Ubuntu)
• Placement of 10 students with Kwa-Thema FET
• Held Zoom meetings with the community during lockdown
• School uniforms to Geluluksdal Secondary School, Funukukhanya and Michael Zulu
• Five new roads
