Kwa-Thema – A multidisciplinary high-density operation hosted by Kwa-Thema SAPS on Saturday evening saw the arrest of 32 people.
A roadblock was held along Thema Road, where no vehicle was left unsearched.
Kwa-Thema police spokesperson Const Nkululeko Magudulelo said the aim was to rid the streets of illicit goods being transported in and out of the area.
“Visible policing, stop-and-searches, flash operations and high saturation were conducted simultaneously to ensure no crime goes undetected.

“Over 10 people were arrested for possession of substances suspected to be drugs, four charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and 10 persons were also arrested for being undocumented foreign nationals with the aid of Department of Home Affairs (DHA) Immigration Services.
“One suspect was arrested for being in possession of one live 9mm round of ammunition,” he said.
Magudulela added there were no major crimes reported during the operation and throughout the night as a result of the high police presence.
All suspects are expected to appear in court soon.
