Lorna Beharie

I hold a BCom Honours qualification and I have been chief whip for the DA Caucus in Ekurhuleni.

Candidate: Lorna Beharie
Party: DA
Ward 74
My name is Lorna Beharie, the DA Ward 74 candidate in Ekurhuleni.
Ward 74 includes portions of Geduld, New Era, Pollak Park, Dal Fouche, Wright Park and a section of Kwa-Thema.
I am standing as a ward councillor because service delivery is at an all-time low in the City of Ekurhuleni.
The blatant mismanagement of public funds can no longer be condoned.
Our electrical, water and waste infrastructure are on the precipice of a collapse.
Residents are subjected to daily power cuts, sewer overflows and water cuts.
Services are paid for but residents do not receive the same.
We cannot and should not allow the ANC to get away with this for a minute longer.
Numerous complaints and petitions continue to fall on deaf ears.
The issues I will be driving in the ward are inconsistent electrical supply, unreliable refuse removal, failing sewer infrastructure resulting in overflowing and unhygienic living conditions.
Over-grown parks, vagrants, potholes, street lights, the tarring of roads, replacement of chemical toilets, ill-maintained parks and vandalised cemeteries.
These issues will be my top priority while ensuring residents receive consistent and reliable service delivery.
I hold a BCom Honours qualification and have been chief whip for the DA Caucus in Ekurhuleni.
This, with my experience as a PR councillor for Wards 74 and 78, will assist me in serving the community.
I am articulate and knowledgeable and I will represent my constituents well.
