Meet Ward 99 councillor candidate Andile Daemane

Andile Daemane resides in Windmill Park.
I am a known social activist who has played a role since I was very young. I am also a leadership coach and mentor.
I am passionate about human development and heavily involved in the eradication of social ills.
I currently coach and mentor about 90 young people on leadership in different spheres and have been doing it for over 12 years. To date, I have mentored more than 400 youths, many of them successful in life. I have also
• Spearheaded a programme of assisting learners with applications for higher learning institutions
• Run an annual programme where we gave away food parcels to about 500 elderly people every December over the past four years
• Organised a tournament of different sporting codes over the last two years
• Organised six career guidance events for the local secondary schools
• Actively involved in assisting local schools with combating school dropout challenges
I plan to continue the work of the ANC and develop the community as follows:
• Assist the four informal settlements we have in the ward with electrification and proper sanitation
• Help with the construction of roads and fixing potholes in the whole ward
• Assist with the construction of a multi-purpose centre that has been on the IDP for the last 10 years
• Organise the community into cooperatives to stimulate township economy
• Build proper sports facilities in the ward
• Assist approved housing beneficiaries in the ward.
