My name is Solomon Motsoagae, councillor candidate for Ward 76. I live in Selcourt Extension Three. After matric, I enrolled for a teacher’s diploma in the technical field majoring in maths and electrotechnics
I’m a team player, willing to work with others, I am a problem solver, service delivery driven, make sure that every complaint is attended to on time as we interact with various service delivery departments within the area of residence and the entire ward.
I have served in various boards and community organisations representing surrounding communities in ensuring job creation and placement.
I am the chairperson of Kopano for Disabled People, where we train people with skills to sustain themselves.
I also assist in sourcing food parcels for needy families, obtaining bursaries for learners that are in need by making sure that they apply and submit to the relevant institutions.
Education is very important to me for development. I assist learners with their school work, especially in the field of mathematics.
I mostly volunteer in helping learners to obtain good results and make sure that they enrol for higher learning as when the society is educated it is easy to be employed and to create jobs to better their lives.
I was elected as ANC deputy branch chairperson Ward 76 in 2018 until today, a role I took very seriously throughout the term of office where I spent most of my time at informal settlements dealing with service delivery issues, project queries, information sharing, advocacy work and campaigns against GBV and drug abuse.
Ward councillor candidates were invited to submit photographs and write-ups. Some candidates had not submitted information as requested.
