Residents invited to a drug awareness dialogue

The We Can Do This Community Project is inviting residents to a drug free awareness campaign.

Tsakani – The We Can Do This Community Project is inviting residents to a drug-free awareness campaign.
The event will take place on Saturday from 12:00 until 16:00 at the Prosper Stars Ground in Extension 12.
Thokozani Hlatshwayo, who is an activist and former drug addict, will be a guest speaker at the event.
Event organiser Matshidiso Silinda said parents are losing their children to drugs.
“Drugs have taken over in our communities. As such the only way to win this fight is by educating them about the dangers drugs possess.
“As parents, we need to have honest discussions with our children, especially our young children, about these things,” explained Silinda.

The theme is black and white, and children from the age of nine can also attend.
“The goal is to show them that a life without drugs is possible. Hearing real-life experiences of former addicts will have an impact in challenging our young people’s perspectives when it comes to drugs.
“It will also encourage those who would like to quit but have no idea where to start,” she said.
For enquiries, the organiser may be contacted on 072 370 5183.
