Book to help learners succeed
She’s completing her honours degree at the University of Johannesburg for applied accounting science.
Kwa-Thema – Busisiwe Faith Nhlapo has released her first book, in which she talks about academic excellence.
The book, titled Mark Tracking Model: The Academic Excellence Blueprint, gives readers guidelines on how to achieve their desired academic excellence in their respective fields.
She’s completing her honours degree at the University of Johannesburg for applied accounting science.
“The book blueprints the success habits of high-performing students and shows the reader that academic excellence is possible.
“Having graduated with my accounting science degree, I started serving the Kwatsaduza community through various educational initiatives for high school learners.

“Through the interactions with the learners, I realised they all need practical guidance on how to improve their academic performance, over and above the ‘study harder’ talk.
“That’s when I took it upon myself to document a blueprint to help them excel in their academics, from the lessons that have worked for me in my academic career as well as the research I am continually conducting,” she explained.
Nhlapo said the writing process was exciting as she had time to plan it.
“I started writing in April 2020 when we had our first lockdown which granted me ample time to do my research and complete my project.
“This read is for anyone who deems education as a necessary pillar for human development. Learners from Grade 10 to 12, tertiary students, teachers, tutors and academics stand to benefit a lot from reading the copy,” she stated.

Nhlapo added that readers will get insight into the success habits of high-performing students.
“They will also get an opportunity to learn the theory of academic performance evaluation, to help take ownership of their own performance and learn how to use the dynamic Mark Tracking Model as a performance measurement tool and familiarise themselves with a plethora of resources to supplement their learning,” she said.
