“One18Twenty2 presents TV and film writing and producing masterclasses.
“This programme is aimed at introducing youth from Ekurhuleni to the television and film industry through carefully designed entry-level roles.
“We invite young people who may not have prior skills in film and/or television production but have the passion to work in the industry and those who have been previously trained but are unemployed and struggling to get into the workforce or secure mentorship.

“Our observation over the years is that most learners end up in dead-end jobs in different sectors that they are not necessarily passionate about or are under the impression that the creative sector only has acting jobs or skills available,” explained Vannesa Tloubatla, head of operations at the organisation.
She believes that the masterclasses will open the youth up to the possibilities of other behind-the-scenes roles that they may not be considering.
“It is with the unwavering support of the Gauteng Film Commission that One18Twenty2 can provide this exceptional opportunity to the youth from Ekurhuleni, mainly Kwa-Thema, Tsakani and Duduza with advanced tool-based skills, knowledge and hands-on experience from experts from the industry.

“Joining Kagiso, story developer and scriptwriting trainer Tshenolo Mabale will focus on scriptwriting and story development,” added Tloubatla.
Candidates must have a minimum of a matric certificate to qualify to be part of the programme.
Interested candidates may apply by sending an email to info@one18twenty2.com and specify which creative division they are currently in or interested in.
