Duduza – Five suspected drug dealers were arrested by members of the Duduza SAPS Crime Prevention Unit over the weekend.
The suspects were rounded up and apprehended by the members who, for a long time, had been gathering information about the syndicate’s operation.
Duduza police spokesperson Sgt Harry Manaka said amongst the drugs seized were more than 50 Mandrax tablets and more than 100 units of nyaope with an estimated street value of about R6 000.

Cash believed to be derived from the sale of these drugs was also seized.
Speaking after the arrest, Duduza SAPS acting station commander Capt Petrus Mabuza commended the work by the members and expressed relief as more drugs and the dealers are taken off streets of Duduza.
He explained the arrest is also an indication that the SAPS is committed to doing its part in the the partnership against drug supply, distribution and potential use.
The suspects are expected to appear in the Nigel Magistrate’s Court during the course of the week.
