Tsakani EMPD wins big

Tsakani— The EMPD’s Tsakani Precinct was awarded an overall award for best performing precinct in the Eastern Region during an award ceremony held by EMPD at Faranani Hall last Thursday.
This is based on their successes such as arrests, recoveries, written notices and general participation in community-based projects.
The event was held to honour the tremendous work by the officers operating in the Eastern region of Ekurhuleni.
This includes the Jocc Centre, First Response Unit, Social Crime Prevention Unit, Land Invasion Unit, Tracing Unit and the Covid-19 Team.
Ekurhuleni East region precinct stations are Benoni, Daveyton, Etwatwa, Tsakani, Kwa- Thema, Brakpan, Geluksdal, Kingsway, Nigel, Springs and Duduza.

The municipal commissioner, chief Isaac Jabulani Mapiyeye recognised the work of the personnel by awarding certificates of excellence to the identified recipients.
Director of the region, Brig K Mahlangu, was joined by his colonels who expressed their gratitude and commitment shown by the members of the EMPD.
“We congratulate the deserving recipients and further urge others to learn from their colleagues.
“Let’s remember that the fight against crime will not be won alone as we need the assistance of our community.
“We pride ourselves on our professionalism. Let’s continue servicing and protecting our residents with pride,” said Mahlangu.
The Tracing Unit also received a commendation for being the best unit in effecting arrests, recoveries and liaising with the community.
