Bridge in Lopeng Street is a no-go area

Duduza – Police are warning residents to not use the bridge in Lopeng Street, Sotho Section.
This comes after two rape incidents were reported in the area.
Duduza police spokesperson Sgt Harry Manaka said they are concerned about the safety of residents using the bridge.
In the recent incident, the victim reported she noticed two men following her last Saturday while walking home from a tuck shop on Ranyao Street.

“One of the two covered her mouth with his hands and the other one forcefully took off her shoes.
“They then undressed her and took turns raping her.
“They then fled the scene on foot,” he explained.
Manaka added that no one has been arrested and urged anyone with information about the perpetrators’ identity to come forward.
