Six arrested during police operation

Three people were arrested for drunk driving, two for possession of suspected drugs and one for selling liquor without a licence.

Tsakani – Six people were arrested during a stop-and-search last Friday.
The operation was manned by members of Tsakani SAPS Vispol, Tsakani crime prevention and Gauteng Traffic with other support members from 10:00 until 18:00.
Tsakani police spokesperson Sgt Lerato Mngomezulu said vehicle control points were held where vehicles and occupants were searched for any illegal items, such as drugs and unlicensed firearms.

Three people were arrested for drunk driving, two for possession of suspected drugs and one for selling liquor without a licence.
“A group of people were also arrested for drinking in public as part of crime prevention and enforcing the Gauteng Liquor Act 2/2003 section 127(d) that states no person may consume liquor in or near any public place and in a motor vehicle driven on a public road or parked in a public area,” she explained.
